I am very pleased to already have an overall increase
in TAKS benchmark scores. We still have another month and a half to finish the Algebra I curriculum and review
for the TAKS test. I am extremely confident that all my students will increase their TAKS score compared to the
previous year. The number one reason why this is possible is because these students have the opportunity for more classroom
instruction with the block period arrangement. The extended class has a maximun of 18 students (compared to an average
classroom of 25). Also, the class is designed for the students to have ample class time to ask questions and complete
assignments while in the teacher's presence. Our students are very fortunate to be in such a classroom enviroment, compared
to the 45 minute - 25 student classroom enviroment.
